INTELLIGENT CONTROL SYSTEM FOR ENERGY OPTIMIZATION

PilotE² Control is an adaptive control system tailored to each installation that aims to optimize the energy performance of the systems being optimized, adapting the operating point to the most optimal operating conditions at all times.

It communicates with the digital twin, implemented in PilotE² Cirrus IIoT, via MQTT protocol, which calculates in real time the optimal operating parameters and dynamically loads them into the PLC or SCADA of the plant to maximize the overall performance:

  • Compressor operating sequence
  • Start and stop setpoints
  • Operating set points (pressures, temperatures, etc.)

CONVENTIONAL VS ADAPTIVE CONTROL

A conventional control system is intended to adjust linear and time invariant systems. This approximation is true for fixed points of work with small fluctuations. When this approximation is no longer true, the behavior of conventional controllers is no longer good and the systems begin to work at a working point that is not optimal, resulting in a loss of performance and, therefore, increased consumption. Adaptive control, on the other hand, is able to adapt by changing its control parameters, maintaining good control of the process.
